My feelThe Manager here is amazing, he does a great job and will look after you....I have been a huge fan of GyG since they first came to QLD. ings about the store took a hit with the new breakfast menu last year, it just didn't resonate with me. Then, when taco bell opened they added meals that appeared to be in direct competition with taco bell but not authentic, I didn't like the breakfast menu or the new items. Last week I tried to order online, no Quesadillas. So I ordered my husbands burrito online and went in store to order my Quesadilla. NO, you don’t do quesadillas anymore. So I ordered a soft corn tortilla taco, the teenager taking my order said corn – so hard? I said no corn, soft paid my bill. Three uncooked flour tortillas arrived. I talked to the manager, he says the tortillas are cooked, just at manufacturing stage and served cold now, the only corn option is hard. There is nothing more disgusting than a cold flour tortilla served with meat inside and unmelted cheese only slightly worse that a hard corn tortilla. I lived on the Mexican border most of my life and have only three times been served with a flour tortilla unwarmed, I have never returned to those three restaurants and was unable to eat the meals served. I won’t ever return to Guzman y Gomez if the new menu stays this way I was a hard core supporter, when it opened in brisbane I ate there Mon Fri for a month. The manager at Nerang is awesome, he is really on top of the store and if I had my own business I would want someone like him looking after it. He arranged nachos for me so it was OK but I felt a deep sadness my authentic Mexican is gone. Also the nachos don't have near enough cheese. Again, I must cook it myself always as the authenticity is gone. I think GyG are trying to compete with taco bell. Your point of difference was actual authentic quality food. Some executive has just ruined your business model I won’t return until I get a soft corn tortilla at the bare minimum or quesadillas are returned to the menu. Really just so disappointed. I have tried to contact your office several time to give feedback but the phone is rarely answered, and when it is, I am told the receptionist can't forward calls, only leave messages. When they finally got back to me I was told the authentic mexican options weren't popular enough so tough luck. Unimpressed. I own't be back unless they go back to serving real mexican food. HOw hard is it to heat a corn versus flour tortialla? I do it at home every week.
I had never tried Guzman Y Gomez before, but now I understand why I waited so long. The service was quick and the burritos were delicious. They were a good size too, I could barely finish the whole meal.
The title says it all. The food was amazing, the prices were good, and the staff were friendly. I would definitely go back here again, and probably many more times.
