My Peruvian wife has been visiting for some time since she had heard good things about the Aji de Gallina. We had a Saturday, so we made the trip to Surquillo. The location of the restaurant is about halfway between Angamos... and Benavides on Aviacion, so it is not very convenient for us at least. Nonetheless, combos drive this road, so is a way to get there. We took a cab. We arrived at 1:00 and were perhaps the first customers of the day. A couple arrived about half an hour later. Nevertheless, I can only hope that people really pack up for dinner. My wife had the Aji de Gallina. I had the Osobuco with Ravioli and 3 cheese sauce. While my wife ate her plate, she thinks it was just an average dish. I enjoyed the Osobuco. The Ravioli was a little goodbye to me. Mostly, I think that's because I had no idea what the raviolis were filled with. I think it was Aji de Gallina. Anyway, the secret put me down (I am a picky eater). Nevertheless, I think that would be a nice dish for everyone. Will we come back? I don't think so. It's just a bit away for us and there are better ways to get close. On the other hand, if you're in the area, I wouldn't reject it. The Aji de Gallina and the Osobuco with Ravioli ran both S/.35. My coke was S/.6 and my wife's carambola was S/.9. No, not the cheapest meal, but also not awfully high.
You need to visit kamcha when in Peru, the food is to die, the service is excellent, they are friendly and very welcoming, there are on street parking, they have large screen TVs around, we have the award-winning "aji de gallina '... it was simply amazing.
My Peruvian wife had been wanting to visit for quite some time, since she had heard good things about the Aji de Gallina. We had a Saturday free, so we made the trip to Surquillo. The ravioli, though, was a bit of a letdown for me. Mainly, I think that is because I had no idea what the raviolis were stuffed with. I think it was Aji de Gallina. Anyway, the mystery put me off (I am a picky eater). Still, I think that would be a nice dish for anyone. Will we return? I suspect not. It is just a bit distant for us and there are better choices nearby. On the other hand, if you are in the area, I wouldn't be adverse to eating there. The Aji de Gallina and the Osobuco with Ravioli both ran S/.35. My coke was S/.6 and my wife's Carambola drink was S/.9. No, not the cheapest meal, but not horribly high, either.
