I visited on a Saturday night--karaoke night. Good sound system & efficient DJ--moved singers along quickly. Ample free parking. I felt welcome there. Waitresses attentive & cheerful, reasonable selection of draft beer. Friendly crowd, mostly regulars. I had a couple of appies--wh. are HALF-PRICE from 9pm to closing, and both were excellent in quality and quantity. My only complaint is that the place is small and crowded-chairs & tables quite close together so the place 'feels' a bit closed-in.
I came from the UK. I was staying down the road and this was local to me. I looked at the reviews and decided to go anyway. I was surprised in a good way. The locals were very nice and the owner's (new I believe) were very good. Food was good too. People should give it a go and put the past events to rest.
So, I used to go here a lot, almost every 3rd day and the food was just ok pub food, then the place closed down for a couple of months, apparently it got sold to someone eles. the new owners opened the place up again in March or april 2016,so I decided to give it a try. the food is better, they slimed down the menu a lot, I do miss the cod burgar, but did make it for me,when I asked. and the food tastes like it was made that day, not just in a big batch and frozen, like the old shepards pie the previous owners sold.drink are priced just right and they have different daily food specials. the only thing they could do better is bring Daryl the bartender back.
I've never had a classic hungry man style breakfast where everything was completely coated in curry powder. Completely inedible. Place was packed and they only had one server working both the bar and the floor. Obviously through no fault of the server, the service was painfully slow.
