We can't say enough about this hidden gem! The food is to die for, and the atmosphere is fantastic. The weekend entertainment is absolutely perfect. You will not be disappointed. The fact that is is husband and wife run, is neato.....it is such a personal experience. They make you feel like you're a personal friend and not just an everyday customer.
Had another perfect escape from work today at Sheila's Bistro. In and out and perfectly tended to all within my 30 minute time window. Thanks for everything guys. I needed that today
A.most tastefully designed restaurant! The meals lunch and dinner are fabulous. Staffing is very polite with great humour and presence .I would recommend Sheila"s to everyone. We have tried everything and loved it all. The desserts are a sublime ending to the meal! It a hidden gem in South Surrey!
This bistro has been here for 3 years, so as one of our group of 6 ladies said, "It must have something going for it". It's trendy and expensive for what you get so there's probably a younger clientele happy with it. The surroundings are nice. It was a midweek lunch at noon and only a couple of other tables were in use. I ordered the soup which I sent back to be reheated. The flavour did not reflect any of the ingredients mentioned (e.g. cocoanut) except for the carrot. The Italian? bun served with it had been very lightly toasted and was rather tasteless and dry and we asked for butter as none came with it. The pasta, the beet salad, turkey club that others had were okay. The specials were listed but with no prices as someone else mentioned. Lunch pasta was $22. which you find out with the bill. $2. extra for adding bread to the salad. Dessert was a disappointment. The portion of panna cotta was very small and ordinary. It seemed rather like something out of the jello cookbook from long ago with the accompanying few pieces of orange and cranberry on the side. Could not detect the grand mariner. Others liked their apple crisp.Service was slow and although that didn't bother me that the dessert didn't arrive, two people had to leave at a certain time. The waiter apologized and mentioned something about having to serve the other table first before plating our 3 desserts. The server himself, was pleasant. When asked how we'd like our bills, I detected a bit of hesitancy when we mentioned individually. Also, although in the end he did divided our dessert cost for the people sharing, he initially said we'd have to figure that out ourselves. Just a bit unusual since most places we've been to on our regular get togethers have had no problem at all with the billing this way. The options of tip start at 18% unless you type in your own %. Parking is not extensive. It was full all around the restaurant with people at other buildings, I presume. No one asked how we'd enjoyed our lunch or I would have mentioned what I've mentioned here.Overall, I don't think any of our group will be making a return visit.
