Vij's Inspired Indian Cuisine - Surrey

Recently in India, it is always the same problem. People come from a country far away where they enjoyed the food, knowing they will never have the same experience again. Canadian Indian cuisine is good, but it is usually not quite authentic. Vij's in Surrey may not be located in downtown Vancouver, but the owner has a connection we can relate to. The food is fantastic, served traditionally with the right portions and warmth. We tried the curry chicken, lamb, garlic naan, and rice, but everything was exceptional. The atmosphere may be fancier than your typical Indian restaurant in a big city in India, but the food is the closest we have come to the real thing. It is a spacious restaurant and reservations are recommended. We visited at 3 pm and there were only a few other tables occupied. The prices are reasonable for Morgan Creek area. I suggest choosing a few dishes to share. I am already looking forward to going back and trying something new.
