At top of Oxford street, Burdekin is a long standing pub/night club sometimes offering good dance music from world famous DJs. Last time I visited here was on Mardi Gras night because a couple of friends from the UK wanted to check out this annual carnival. Drinks were all served from plastic cups, floor was sticky, room was dull and uncharacteristic, bouncers were rude, just how I remembered this place from many years ago. I must've been a complete fool not just to start a bar tab here but to then forget to reclaim my bank card from this shady lot. But I don't think that excuses them stealing my card and putting fraudulent transactions through. Perhaps they made a mistake and gave it to the wrong person (I still have the tab card) or perhaps they have a bad egg among the staff who stole it. Regardless, I called, left vmail and even turned up at what was supposed to be their opening time and waited 20minutes - all to no avail. Thankfully my bank refunded the fraudulent charges, and I've never written a bad review in my life, but I couldn't not warn the wise who take the time to read this before going - STAY AWAY!
