Although it was good, it wasn't enough to justify the cost, especially when there are similar options available for a fraction of the price.
Lucky Pickle is a hidden gem of a sandwich shop located in the quieter streets of Surry Hills, near Crown Street. With only a few chairs available for seating, it's a cozy spot to enjoy a delicious meal. The breakfast and lunch menu may be short, but each option is enticing and we found the food to be consistently prepared well. Unfortunately, the popular "pork belly" sandwich was already sold out when we visited, showing just how in-demand this place is. Instead, we opted for the Japanese-inspired chicken katsu sandwich on a crunchy baguette, which was absolutely delicious and served quickly. We also tried the salad, a takeaway container filled with quinoa, green beans, fennel, and other fresh ingredients. While the prices were a bit on the higher side, we felt that the quality justified it. The breakfast menu offers granola and irons, but we skipped the coffee as it's not our favorite. Overall, Lucky Pickle is definitely worth a visit for their tasty sandwiches, friendly and efficient staff, and lively atmosphere.
I visited this restaurant based on a recommendation from a local in Sydney. It is a small establishment, but luckily we were able to secure one of the three available tables. I ordered the only vegetarian sandwich on the menu, which consisted of roasted ciabatta with smoked mozzarella, pesto, and olives. My friends opted for the pork and chicken katsu sandwiches. The sandwiches took a while to arrive, as there was a long line of people waiting for takeout orders. When my sandwich finally came, it was good but not outstanding. It seems that there has been a recent change in management, which may have affected the quality. I would suggest adding another vegetarian sandwich option to the menu.
A hidden little gem of a coffeeshop, right at the crown street in surry hills. the coffee shop offers a small table with limited internal seating and also some external stools. the coffee is good. the freshly made sandwich selection is limited...excellent! great, friendly staff make this small coffee shop have a big heart. worth a visit.
I love this place so much. Visited after reading a great review in a travel magazine wasn't disappointed. The katsu sandwich and the pork belly sandwich are fantastic and my faves. Limited seating more of a pick up and take away food stop... but there are some great parks nearby and handy for work lunches.
