Sushi Uo - Surry Hills

After reading the below 1 star reviews I am certainly confused and feel like I either ate at a different restaurant or they have definitely changed. My experience was one full of awesome food, amazing service and quick execution from the kitchen. The waitress was super friendly and even had some fun helping me practice my Japanese despite my poor Aussie accent. The prices are well expected and nothing I looked at on the menu made me think 'wow, that 's a shock! '. The specials menu was exactly what I want to see, a good variety and great portion sizes for great value. I was happy to get red rice with my dish too, a pleasant topping to a wonderful dining experience!

I had been looking forward to trying out this restaurant for over a month, and I finally had dinner here the other night with my friends. The layout and atmosphere are gorgeous, and the staff were all very friendly. The food was all fantastic - the sushi, sashimi, and sukiyaki were amazing, I couldn't stop licking the chopsticks because the flavors were so delicious! Overall, I was very impressed with the atmosphere, service, and food. I highly recommend this place!

Absolutely fantastic. The Japanese cuisine served here is truly authentic. The chef is skilled, the food presentation is impeccable, and the flavors are unmatched. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and attentive. I can't wait to dine at this restaurant again.

Excellent decor a la carte menu as well as choices, atmosphere befits a French restaurant more than a Japanese one. Very busy if you don't book then you may need to come back quite a few hours later. The food itself is interesting, but slightly overpriced.

I went here with my friends for dinner. We had Sushi Sashimi combination and beef short ribs. It was awesome. Sashimi was the freshest in Surry Hills and beef short rips was amazing. Definitely I would come again and highly recommended!!
