Zambo Restaurant - Surry Hills

The contemporary Italian food was excellent, and presented with style on the plate by excellent serving staff. We had a great evening= with great culinary surprises and staff who exceeded expectations (as did the food!) There's also pleasant ambiance and the tables are not too close together, It's now our favourite restaurant in Surry Hills!

My husband took me to Zambo for my birthday. We chose the $89 set menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. The chef personally delivered most of the meals (could be because it wasn't that busy) Service was impeccable. We finished with a TimTamisú- an amazing home made Tim Tam filled with a tiramisú cream filling- a definite must! The young chef is pushing the boundaries with modern Italian food and flavours. There was nothing boring or conventional here- this was an absolute feast for the senses. A special occasion restaurant- we'll be back for sure.

The restaurant was suggested by colleagues and it was simply excellent. Amazing dinner with very tasty and original plates. Every meal was well presented, delivered by chefs who explained the ingredients and extremely good. The service was unexpectedly superb as they not only were always friendly but since we were celebrating something they offered us a dessert customised with "congratulations" :) Strongly recommend!

The service was sensational, and the food was priced where it should be for such quality. I was full at the end of the meal. My dining partner and I had the 7-course degustation, one choosing the fish and the other the lamb (so we could try both). We added on the pie (one order has two little pies) at the beginning. Every single dish was delicious. Standouts for us were the mushroom rigatoni, the crab lunghetti, and the lamb, which was to die for. Absolutely nothing to fault for the entire evening, although I do wish they took Amex. That's fine though, as Amex holders are used to carrying a second card. Definitely give it a go.

Went to Zambo, our hostess was so welcoming, she knew what she was doing & had a great knowledge of the food, we followed her recommendations & we're very impressed with the quality of the food & especially the presentation, all in all it was a really lovely lunch , except, the meals were small & I left hungry .( we had 3 courses )
