Best ice cream in town! What do you want? Sundaes? Milkshakes? Slushies? They have everything ice cream related. Want an ice cream with a dog biscuit for your dog? They got that too. They even had maple soft serve. YUUMMM Super cheap and really good. My recommendation? The Black Forest sundae with a homemade brownie on the bottom or one of the ice cream sandwiches sandwiched between homemade cookies.
This place makes me happy. They have great ice cream, sundaes, and shakes and they are far less pricey than Hoss's. The employees (usually students) are super nice and the ice cream is on point with plenty of variety. It's nothing unique but is good and certainly something to look forward to when you are hiking, camping, visiting the Long Lake/Newcomb area.
My wife has long remarked that I am incapable of passing through Long Lake without stopping at this iconic Adirondacks ice cream stand. She asserts (rightly) that I would stop here even if the ice cream were terrible (which it isn't it's great) on the strength of the name alone. I can't deny it I love a store sign that plays with language. I also adore the vintage 1950s architecture. This place is a national treasure!
