Our main was steak pud but we got pie instead. The quiche was rock hard and inedible so was sent back.. although someone spoke to us and exchanged meals it felt begrudgingly. The place lacked ambience in the side room and staff didn’t know much about the menu. Sadly we won’t be going back which is a shame as it had a lovely garden entry
Visited today with my husband for lunch. Very nice setting. We were seated immediately and drinks order arrived quickly. However, our food order took about 40 minutes to arrive. Food when served was tasty and well presented, which is why I gave 4 stars. The restaurant was not busy and we couldn't understand why we had to wait so long. Following our main course we again waited for about 15 minutes for our plates to be cleared and dessert orders to be taken. I feel the service let the Barnyard down. On another point, which is probably out of their control, was the fact that in the corner there was a group of women having a work meeting/zoom call. It was impossible not to hear and this was quite off-putting.
Came to the barnyard for high tea with friends. Venue is beautiful and food is really lovely and fresh. The service however really wasn't great. Had to ask them to bring out the tea as they'd bought out the food and no sign of the tea coming. Waitresses weren't very attentive and just looked like they really didn't want to be there. I was bought to the barnyard in July for lunch for my birthday and the service was shocking but thought I'd give it another go. I think the staff need a course in customer service as this is seriously letting the place down. Such a shame.
My fiancé and I are getting married at The Barnyard in August 2025, but had only seen the venue in person in March when it was cold and wintery, so we decided to go to the restaurant for some food and to see what the venue and scenery will look like when we get married! It’s a 2 hour drive from where we live, but not only did we get to see our venue, we also got to have a wonderful high tea at the restaurant which made it worth the long drive! The high tea was absolutely delicious, everything was very fresh and tasty. We had emailed ahead to ask if we could just have one flavour of sandwich as we weren’t keen on the others and the high tea came out as we’d requested, I also can’t eat chocolate and this was also accommodated for with no trouble. The staff were welcoming and friendly, all in all it was a great experience and we would highly recommend!
Afternoon tea Poorly presented for £25 per person £100 pound for four people I barely think we had £25 in one persons serving disgusting The presentation was appalling Gordon Ramsey would have said a few words I’m sure
