My husband and I stopped in for Dessert and Expresso Martinis... We were shunned by the two male hosts that were on. No hello, no greeting... We were going to then just sit at the bar but it was full. We ended up seating ourselves at a bistro cocktail table. After about 10 mins my husband went to the bar to try and order our drinks only to be rudely told that he was going to send a waiter. OK waiter did come I asked him for some menus since we never got any by the two hosts that were standing at the desk. Out of Baked Alaska which is what we came for....ok Order something else... Never came back to see if we wanted another drink...I finally had to track someone down for the check. Oh and the restaurant was empty. I was disappointed. I used to work many many years ago at the Cummaquid Inn for Robert Athanis ...back then service was 10+ and the hosts would actually greet you. Noone ever said goodnight Nothing !
One of my favorites.... beautiful view of the ocean. Delicious popovers and marinated mushrooms before your meal. I always get baked stuffed lobster as I did at Anthony's Pier 4 in Boston. Always perfect sweet and tender. Nice dining room with table cloths and staff dressed in tuxes. Bar is pretty looks like a boat. Cocktails served with a sidecar in a silver bowl filled with ice. Very nice presentation and great service. Great for a casual lunch or a special dinner.
Stunning views of Boston and Massachusetts Bay. Maybe it was because we came to the café in a slower time, but we were one of the three families that were fed in the rather large dining area. The whole room felt clogged and I asked the staff to let some air in. We came in for desserts and ordered a cream bubble and baked Alaska. My husband loved the baked Alaska and I enjoyed the cream brulee. 7/10.
The restaurant has a great view and a beautiful decor. But we came in at 5:00 to get some light food and drinks. After we sat, we were told that if we just want to have light food, we can't sit where we are sitting, even though the whole restaurant is quite empty. Understood, but we're pretty insulted. Never been so welcome in a restaurant.
