The salsa and chips are delicious, and the burritos and tostadas are excellent. I just wish they offered carne asada tacos on flour tortillas as an a la carte option.
Knew it was not going to be good as soon as I entered. Hostess/Waitress was ok but quite nosey..as I was talking about a game the previous night the waiter walking by stopped and started talking about it...quite rude. The food was ok but overpriced for the portion size. The waitress was on top of everything and was the one shining light. But had I noticed on the way in...posted on the glass next to the door there was a FAIL sticker from the DHS and said they failed sanitation...lived here for 2 years and had never been...and never will again..
The manager is very rude and arrogant. I complained about the thin watery salsa and I was ridiculed. When complaining about the toughness of the meat in the Carnitas des Res he went into a long tirade of how he had been buying for 20 years and that I knew nothing. When I said the previous operator Thomas back when it was La Casita never bought tough meat; he said Thomas was nothing. Wouldn't eat here again if it was the last restaurant in Sweet Home. Prefer to go to El Charro in Lebanon where the food, service, and wait persons are excellent.
We discovered that our favorite waitress works on Thursdays and Fridays, so those are the only days we recommend going. She is friendly and really enhances the dining experience. The food is quite good, but it is a bit pricey. It appears that the owner relies heavily on this waitress to handle almost everything, but she truly deserves it. We believe her name is Missy. She provides detailed explanations of the dishes and is very knowledgeable about the entire menu.
During our last two visits, we experienced issues with service requests that were overlooked. On our most recent visit, which was meant to celebrate a special occasion, we encountered another problem. Our table didn’t have a drink menu, so we requested one. The waiter had barely placed the menu on the table when the manager, who was reading a newspaper, abruptly approached us and asked if we wanted drinks. We asked for a moment to look over the menu. Later, when we were ready to order drinks, the waiter informed us that they were just there to collect the salsa bowl. Unfortunately, we never got the opportunity to place our drink order.
