Although silver service the staff are light hearted and make the experience much more enjoyable. Ofcourse this comes at a cost but we'll worth it
What a wonderful experience, my partner and I were out celebrating a big finished project and the food exceeded my expectations. The service was very attentive, and our waiter was not only knowledgeable but very approachable and friendly. Despite the steep price, you absolutely get what you pay for and we are looking forward to coming back again
Simply stellar and a must visit. 100% Worth the hype. Located right above the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Quay restaurant lives up to its reputation as one of the best restaurants in Sydney. I worked with Nadine and Julia for a surprise proposal lunch over the past 6 months. The Fink and Quay Team were very collaborative and endeavoured to make the proposal a great success right down to the tiny details such as where my partner would be sitting and the timing of each course. The team went above and beyond to cater for us including a temperance pairing and allowing our florist to enter beforehand. On the big day, everything was as I imagined and the service team did a spectacular job in making us comfortable. Special shout-out to Steven (sommelier) and Michiko (manager) who were extremely attentive. We were situated in the Private Dining Room where we had sweeping and unobstructed views of the Sydney Opera House. I would however note that on occasion, cruise ships do dock at the Terminal so would be good to check beforehand. We had the 6 course menu with a few additional extras. Highlights included: Murray cod, bone marrow noodles, scallop entrees and the crumpets with caviar. Although each dish was a small portion, we were very full by the end of the lunch. Everything was delicious. A day to remember forever ! Thank you!
The eel is a world class dish, the rest are good but some distance to world leaders for fine dinning in terms of presentation and creativity. Quality of wine selected for food matching need significant improvement. Still, worth paid for what you get, this place is definitely within top 5 for Australia.
Dining at Quay was not just one of the finest culinary experiences of my life; it was an exceptional experience overall. I took my dad there as a birthday gift since it had been on his bucket list for years, and he loved every moment of it—making it a truly special day for him. Each dish was flawless and incredibly delicious. The service was outstanding as well. We opted for the wine pairings with each course, which I highly recommend. It truly encapsulated the essence of fine dining and luxury. At the end of our meal, we bought one of Peter Gilmore's books. Quay is worth every penny, and I can't wait to have this experience again someday.
