Happy Birthday! ???? It was my workmate's birthday at work so I was tasked with selecting a cake shop to buy the cake from. This one was close by to work and their website showed some delicious cakes so decided to hop on over there. It is located in the MLC centre. They had quite a variety of cakes there. The lady assisting me was helpful and checked out the back just in case there was one in the size we wanted. Unfortunately our choice was not available. We went with our second option of the Carrot Cake. I brought it back and everyone was delighted how fluffy the cake was and the icing was just right and not overly sweet. The cake has a good crumb to it.

The cake is extremely light considering its full of cream. I'm not a fan of caramel but it is not overly sweet at all. It would be even better if the sponge layers were a bit thinker. Can't really taste too much sponge, was mainly layers of cream and caramel icing. thernbdiary.com

VERY DISAPPOINTED with my online order not being ready on time (in fact 3 days late) and not to the requirements specified. Indeed Shocking that you were not even aware of my order and we had to constantly chase up over the phone every day. We gave up finally and cancelled it - awaiting a full refund. And thanks to you a little boy went without cake on his birthday.

The go to place for Friday cake, Alexanders do an amazing range of cakes and slices. My personal favourite is the old fashioned chocolate sponge filled with jam and fresh cream, but of course they have the whole range. Banana cakes, red velvet, fruit tarts, chocolate cakes of various descriptions. They also do very good pies - nice light pastry and lusciously meaty fillings.
