There are a ridiculous amount of places to eat in the CBD so not sure I’ll be back, but I’ll definitely have to be on the lookout for some indian elsewhere!
Curry Avenue, the selection of vegetarian curries is very good but is quite limited if you want a meat curry. The quality is not up to scratch and it is anything but authentic. The Mixed Veg. Curry was bland and very watery along with the Butter Chicken also especially considering the cost of CBD food court dining. The seating area is nice but the curries need improvement although I didn't try the Dosas.
I had food here thrice and whenever I ask do you have freshly cooked naan( which i ask after facing the 1st time disappointment) I always get the reply, it is cooked two hour before. The food is very average and I cant tell about how fresh the food items are. Thought it is a part of a good nice looking food court and being an Indian I end up eating here even after I dont like much. Need improvement.
A fairly satisfying meal of aloo gobi, dal makhani and rice. The aloo gobi was a near gravy when it was meant to be a dry fry. The dal makhani, keeping my expectations fairly in check, I couldn't complain a whole lot about. Given that it's the only Indian option in that part of the food court, I can make my peace with the food.
Where do I begin? The butter chicken wasn't creamy like you'd find it at other places. It was watery and had a tomato/ketchup sauce taste to it. Though I'm not a curry expert that's why I'll move on from the actual taste of the food. I somehow ended up paying $24 for 1 meal (2 meat options + rice)..?! The naan bread was that hard, cold and stale that I literally managed to chip my tooth on it. To top it off there was no cutlery left and the lady told me to go next door to the Thai place and grab their cutlery. Mind you she had plastic cutlery behind her!! Worst experience would not recommend to anyone. If you want good Indian food then head to Merrylands Stocklands food court. At least their naan bread comes out fresh and warm.
