Looking for a quick lunch at World Square on a workday, Din Tai Fung turned us away with a 25mins wait, who can afford that time for lunch? So we ended up here (I was actually looking for Miso, but went up the wrong alley). Lucky for us the food came pretty quickly. It's a no frills type Japanese noodle place, most meals are around the $10 mark. My chicken katsu curry was ok, chicken was crunchy outside, a little dried inside, won't notice if you drown it in the curry. My friend's soft shell crab bowl looked impressive, and she thought it was good. Solid lunch option.
I think the meat was half-rotten. Why was it sour!? I ate the same thing in Japan, but I've never eaten like that taste, even if it is same name. Also, the smell of chicken was terrible. I'll never go this restaurant again.
Went here only because my mom wanted a small amount of food ???? She could finish a rice bowl here - coming from Asia, an Australian serving is usually too big for her. And she likes anything soupy (age factor ????????). Standard japanese food and you can make it budget friendly - just don't order too many toppings
As some reviews said their service, it wasn't great, but not rude. It's cheap quick meal place, so it didn't bother me. The price is reasonable, but the quality and quantity, we have better options at other udon shops. I feel paying for location rather than food. I don't know if they buy the chopped spring onion or cut at the shop, but it looks old. As I have another choice, I won't be back here soon.
A quick decent feed and good value for your money. I'm a huge fan of udon so this place easily pleased me having a decent variety of udon dishes. It's a self service style restaurant, so make sure you return your trays when done. It packed up pretty fast during lunch time and I can totally understand why. I also got my hands on some of their spam sushi. It looks very cute with the cut out seaweed faces and I noticed a lot of people coming in only to stock up on the spam sushi. Definitely worth a check out .
