I stopped by this place while walking down the street and thought I should check it out since it was time for a 2nd meal.
Encase Deli at this location is closed due to the building being resumed for construction. There is a sign on the door saying they might reopen somewhere else but in the meantime they are still open at another site. This is great pity because they were a great source of Spanish foodstuffs in a part of the city that doesn't have a lot to offer.
Amazingly fresh, delicious and authentic ingredients. At $10 for a sandwich it's very reasonable and the sandwiches are a good size. I'll definitely go back!
OMG!! I have wanted to come here for ages as when I walk past on the way to my hotel, the jamons have been singing their siren song to me. Today I got to have breakfast (desayuno). The toast with Spanish ham and tomato (tostada con Jamón y tomate) was the best I have had outside of Spain and the piccolo latte was also great - probably because they use A2 milk! They also have a selection of Spanish ingredients and stuff for sale so I stocked up on Manolete chorizos (they come in a can but don't let that put you off - they are amazing!!). ¡Buen provecho!
