The prices are on the higher end but the atmosphere, delicious food and attentive service are what you are paying for. It was our last night in Sydney before returning home to North Carolina in the U.S. It was raining and we wanted a restaurant close to our hotel. We made a reservation at this wonderful place, just around the corner on Bridge Street. A complimentary appetizer was offered. I ordered scampi, a potato side dish that was fabulous with a butter sauce and my husband had a dish made with baked snapper. All three items were delicious...our favorite, the potatoes. My only complaint is that we were first in the door and were given one of the tables I would save for last to use. We were seated near the front door near a service table. Staff were running by us with drinks and food for others or standing at the service table all evening. When the front door opened we could feel the humid air enter the room. This, in my opinion, was probably the worse seat in the house. I'm not sure why it was offered as the first table for two when we made reservations in advance. It put a bit of a damper on the experience. All in all, I highly recommend Eleven Bridge...just ask for a seat in a quiet part of the restaurant.
My friend Steve and I engage in competitive dining - a sport for middle aged men where individual choice of restaurant produces a winner and yesterday a loser (me) - since I like my choice I won't name mine - suffice to say Jade Temple is this month's winner. We shared a lobster (divine, absolutely divine) half a dozen gorgeous oysters, duck, dumplings - made pigs of ourselves and then hit the dessert menu. This is NOT a cheap restaurant and that said, we were treated to the sight of Mr Perry directing traffic in the kitchen and his professional stamp is all over the Jade Temple experience - the wait staff are unobtrusive and knowledgeable, we didn't feel rushed, there's a good feel..... If you haven't been you should go, if you have maybe we'll see you because we will certainly be back.
We were very keen to eat here before it closed and were lucky to get a late booking. The decor was warm and sophisticated, the staff very attentive without being obsequious and the food sublime. Looking forward to seeing where the chef goes next
My mother and I, along with 2 Aussie friends, had dinner here on my first evening in Sydney at the start of our nearly 2 week trip in early May. I had researched the best restaurants in town, and knew this one would potentially close (as it now has as of May 13). Dinner was very good...though service was a bit disjointed and sometimes slow. Restaurant is VERY dark, and there were only a few other diners in the largely vacant main dining room.
Eleven Bridge was rebranded from Neil Perry's classic restaurant "Rockpool Est 1989" in late 2016. Honestly speaking, the food now is not as good/premium as Rockpool Est 1989, but it still one of the best restaurant that can represent Australia's top level fine dining. Dinner Set Menu is $165 per person with 8 course, cheaper than its old brand Rockpool Est 1989, which actually surprised me. All the dishes are creative with premium materials. Every single course gave me great palet feeling and surpirse. I like the first dish - chicken wing with caviar. Wine list is of great quality selection. Service is very good. I booked four months before the date. The staff confirmed and reminded me for a few times by email and phone call.
