Joe and the Juice - Sydney

Got a juice, can't remember the name but it was like a 'stay away doc' juice with carrot, orange and ginger. Was really nice and sweet, and I could taste the ginger not some tacky syrup. Hope it boosts my immune system

This place is huge and seems to be making fresh juices cool and sexy with its hip and happening vibe. Lots of comfy seating, switched on service and pumped up dance music filling the space like a night club. I try the ‘Immunity’ - red grapefruit, passion fruit, apple juice ($8.25 large) which has a nice refreshing flavour. So many choices on the menu it's a bit overwhelming at first when trying to read them on the wall menu. Would love to see reusable cups being used when dining in rather than the single use plastic ones. All this healthy drinking but I fear the environmental impact it's causing on the flip side. Hopefully they have a great recycling program with all the disposable cups being collected in the bins provided? I wanted a break from the stuffy office over lunch time but it was a bit too hot outside. So I tried a Iron Man here. Well, that's the name of the juice. The place is not packed, dynamic vibe. Comfortable sitting. Friendly service. The waiting time is ok. Let's talk about the juice. I love the strawberry taste. But it only has a touch of kiwi. Hard to taste it. The ice cubes and strawberries are not blended fine enough, so constantly stacked in the straw. Good place for casual catch up but the music is too loud for any meaningful conversation.

In Short: Joe and the Juice is a temple dedicated to juice lovers and health food fiends. Superb fit-out, with an upbeat ambiance, right next to Martin Place. Joe and the Juice has finally landed down under. On a recent trip to Singapore I had seen a Joe and the Juice store near Raffles Place, and late last year saw hoardings advertising the fact that it would soon be opening up at Barangaroo (and as I walked down through Barangaroo recently, I see it is now operational!). I am here in their swish new digs on Pitt Street adjacent to Martin Place. It’s hard to categorise Joe and the Juice. The fit-out is handsome, sleek and reminiscent of its Danish roots. There’s a swinging cane chair, and Motown classics pumping through the speakers. It’s more health bar than cafe, yet they do coffee very well. You can take a seat, but there’s no table service or silverware, rather disposable cups and plates. And then there are the juices; the core of the menu.
