A lunchtime sandwich bar offering toasties, sandwiches and pita rolls with hot coffee (not bad) and smoothies and juices. Hearty lunch tummy fillers
I've eaten lunch at this cafe regularly since last year which is when they opened, I think. They have really nice wraps, sandwiches, sometimes pizzette or imaginative burger-type options. Their salads are probably the stand out items. There are usually three or four pre-made salad options and they are way better than you will usually find in cafes. One that was a bit of a mystery to me, until I ate some, had finely sliced tofu strips, finely sliced Asian mushrooms and other vegetables plus a dressing that matched well. Another reviewer has mentioned chicken and mango, also great, with red chili. You can have a serving of multiple salads in the one container to takeaway.Yes, the coffee is also good. I seem to remember some of their baked goods being better before - maybe they are buying in muffins etc now? Even if that's the case I am impressed at the number of freshly made food items they have here every day. (Monday-Friday.)If you are staying at any of the hotels and apartments in World Square and feel like something healthy and delicious to eat for breakfast or lunch, you should go across Pitt Street and find this place.
Take the escalator in Pitt Street into Chambers Arcade where you will come across this little gem of a cafe at the top of the escalators on the left hand side (an elevator is also available to use, or enter from street level on Castlereagh Street). Open for breakfast, brunch or lunch - eat in or take away - the food is fresh and wholesome.Pour yourself in a disposable recyclable cup a complimentary water, from the large glass jar with a twist of fruit, which goes down a treat on a hot day. After discovering this cafe I have had lunch here on several occasions, grabbing a bottle of their freshly squeezed juice and picking up a bottle of sparkling water from the fridge, which they served to me blended as requested over ice in a large glass jar with screw top and straw.Eating at the table you will be served on proper crockery with silverware; or you might choose to take your meal away. Given enough advance warning, they will make any salad you want with fresh seasonal produce, which is just what I did at Christmas time in order to have some salads for a picnic lunch. There are usually three different salad selections daily, and they are frequently changed depending on what is in season. In summer their Mango Chicken Salad is divine. They also make baked treats such as muffins and mini pizzas, as well as a variety of wraps and brioche creations. Come and try it for yourself. You wont be disappointed.
The beef at this restaurant is of good quality, tender, and cooked perfectly. However, the flavor is a bit one-dimensional and too sour for my preferences. It lacks the complexity found at other places like PH.D.
