After I had the pho that tasted more like a bowl of msg and warm water in the city court, I really had to have a big pho. if I need big viet, I turn to madame nhu. I had the signature đ woc signature special ph bah with three kinds of bark meat and it completely washed off the bad taste. pho is great, Char-drilled chicken patty-skewers vermicelli and steamed chicken rice are also brilliant here. very recommended these dishes. I give madame nhu bear.
The Vietnamese food at this food stall is definitely deserving of five stars and is comparable to its sister restaurant in Surrey Hills. Located in the lower level of the Galeries shopping complex on George St across from the Queen Victoria Building, the atmosphere is decent and typical for a food hall. However, it is a worthwhile stop for a delicious and quick lunch at a reasonable price. The pho was outstanding, with fresh and flavorful ingredients. The optional chillies on the side pack a spicy punch, so use them cautiously. The combination of noodles, chicken, and vegetables in the pho was perfectly balanced. Though it took a few minutes to prepare, we enjoyed our meal at small tables adjacent to the food counter. The stall may be a bit hidden, nestled in a corner, so keep an eye out for it.
I will not be trying other restaurants next time because the food here was not good. However, there are many other places to eat in this complex. The beef brisket Pho I had was served piping hot with bean sprouts and fresh sliced chili, and was a great value for the price. It will go on my list of good places to eat.
The Pho with grilled steak was incredibly delicious and worth the price of $14. The Vietnamese rolls with beef were also tasty and made with plenty of fresh ingredients, offering good value at $6 for two rolls. However, the spring rolls were flavorful but quite small, and at $7.50 for four rolls, they were considered overpriced. Overall, this restaurant is recommended as it stands out as superior to other Chinese and Thai eateries in Hornsby.
