I was a food and a world traveler, I wait excited for lunch the following day. I never got an unwelcome as I did today on 9 March 2016. No one took care of me to recognize me, so I approached the Asian gent, who came out of the kitchen area and asked to sit. he accidentally informed me that they were already closed, despite the attendant diner. when he was talking about the time indicated on the arrival, which promised at least one hour left, he turned when I was only a party of one. I decided to go. two hours later there were or patrons in . yes, I am neither white nor asian, but I never felt so unwilling on every continent...more
I took couple of international visitors walking around Circular Quay area one night. We walked into this North Ocean Seafood restaurant attached to the Gallipoli club. One side is bar service and other side is Chinese restaurant with some very basic cafe style setting. The price is not cheap. We ordered some dumplings, dishes and drinks. Food was pretty fast delivered. They are definitely not freshly made yum cha stuff. Well It is dumplings so we enjoyed our conversations. Staff delivered entree and main dishes together. I asked her why can't they wait until we finish our entree? She answered "this is not a fancy restaurant". This female staff soon came to our table again and told us one of the dishes we had is not for our table. So we have to pay for this extra dish. We agreed to pay but It was definitely not our fault. When we are paying our extra dish, she was again very rude to tell us "if the dish is not ours, we should eat it". It was horrible dining experience with some expensive low quality food. I will avoid this restaurant in any cost in the future.
I have attended a couple of businesses lunches here in the last month or so. I never noticed there despite walking past regularly until a friend invited me there. The place is low key but the food very good and quite reasonable. From time to time a bus load of tourists arrive for a quick meal but it never seems unable to cope. Wine list is small, nut you don't do Chinese food for the wine.I like the interesting selection. The staff are friendly.
Were hungry and we just passed by the place and decided to try their food. They have no free wifi but when I asked the waitress if I can connect to their network, she went to talk to the owner and gave us a thumbs up.The food is excellent. We're very full and we're allowed to bring some that we failed to eat.Good ambience. Worth a try.
