Though small in size, this family-owned cafe is brimming with personality. It's a wonderful place to relax and soak up the friendly vibe, as locals come in for their usual orders, the sound of chatter filling the air. Sipping on a delicious cup of tea served in a charming teapot only adds to the experience. The food was delightful, the staff were welcoming, and I even left feeling refreshed after asking to charge my phone. A truly enjoyable visit.
This restaurant in Paddington is a hidden gem. Despite its small size, the food is absolutely worth trying. The service is friendly and the atmosphere is lively. If you're in the area, I highly recommend checking out this spot.
Seems like a very humble family run cafe. The decor is simple and a bit tired looking but the friendly service gives it a cosy feeling as you watch the local regulars popping in for their morning coffee fix. Chai Latte $4) uses Chai Me Organic Chai with quite a nice flavour. Skim Latte $4) perhaps a little pricey but uses Toby's Estate Coffee with a strong flavour kick. Babyccino $0.50) comes with two marshmallows and I'm surprised how well they do this one. Comes in a paper cup and has about half froth and is quite a reasonable price. Blueberry Bagel and cream cheese $5.50) is good although not sure why it's served with vegemite on the side. Bacon and Egg Roll with caramelised onion and barbeque sauce $8.50) is pretty tasty and a decent size to fill you up for a breakfast on the run. There's a few muffins and pastries at the counter and a fridge in the middle of the cafe with plenty of sausage rolls stacked up on the bottom shelf. Must be a popular choice for some reason. If you have toddlers just keep in mind the cushions on the wall bench aren't fixed so can easily slide off which can be a little dangerous for them. I think these guys are so old school they're not on social media — just pure and simple hospitality.
The food was fine and the coffee was fine. It's not a fancy place, but the owners are salt of the earth, and seem like the nicest people who could own a cafe. And on a sunny, not-too-hot Sunday, it's blissful to sit at the edge of their cafe, almost on the sidewalk, and enjoy Paddington walking by.
