The staff, with one exception, lacked experience and were not very helpful. The service was slow, and the person in charge was unfriendly.

The food was outstanding, and the service was top-notch. The spaghetti and calamari were fresh and flavorful. The waitstaff were friendly and attentive. The ambiance was delightful. My only complaint is that we made a reservation expecting to dine in the restaurant, but upon arrival, we were informed that due to Covid restrictions, they were only serving in the bar area. I was disappointed that this information wasn't communicated beforehand. Other than that, it was a lovely dinner and overall enjoyable experience.

The high tea was absolutely wonderful—one of the best I've ever had! Our waitress, Tammy, was exceptional. I highly recommend this place!

Exceeded my expectations. Most exciting food I've sampled in a while, from the butter at the start to the basil sponge dessert at the end. A refined, comfortable setting on the first floor. I can't wait to return to sample some of the other innovative items on the menu!

I think the $65 charged per person for Afternoon Tea was overwhelmingly expensive. Two little sandwiches each and not the freshest, a mixture of savoury and sweet bites all on one plate tier for two people was disappointingly minimal. It looked like it came straight out of the fridge without any effort whatsoever (served within 1 minute proved that! . Some unique dish to the Intercontinental would have been welcome. I eat there regularly with my husband for business lunches. We usually have the salads which are generally good. When I asked to take the mostly uneaten sweet bites away with us, I was refused by the waiter who said that the hotel didn 't have a licence for that..... Ahem really! I was embarrassed as I had recommended we try it to a friend who was treating me. She didn 't get good value for money and we won 't be booking it again. Having lived in the UK for about 20 years, I can recommend you have your staff check out how the Waldorf, Ritz, Savoy do Afternoon Tea. The Intercontinental, if it made the effort, could make itself the place to have Afternoon Tea in Sydney.
