Overall, I would say my experience was quite average. Our server was helpful in making modifications to the entrees, which was a plus. The chips and salsa were excellent, but I found the queso to be just okay. I ordered a burrito, and to be honest, I could have gotten the same satisfaction from a burrito at Chipotle. It's not particularly kid-friendly, as they don't have a kids' menu, which might be intentional. Additionally, the portion size in relation to the prices doesn't compare well to other Mexican restaurants. Considering the many other options for Mexican food in Syracuse, I don't think we'll be returning.
The most authentic Mexican food in the area, friendly staff, our favorite new waiter Matt helped us make delicious food choices on the menu.. it did not disappoint!! Amazing! We went 3 evenings in a row for dinner!
I grew up in the neighborhood, worked there for a number of years (many years ago), and still to this day cannot get enough of the food at Alto Cinco. I’ve been to many Tex-mex restaurants in my 40 years of life, and nothing compares to Alto. Hands down my favorite Tex-mex restaurant of all time.
We never miss an opportunity to visit Alto when in Syracuse.
