This was one of the best places to eat in syracuse. eating was always excellent. but of what I heard of a series of other people. this restaurant is now permanently closed. this place is already there as long as I'm here. that's over 50 years. if this is true and it is now permanently closed, we have lost a true sign and a great place to eat.
I grew up outside of wny and started with my now wife in 2008. we met in the opposite of buffalo, but she was born and raised in syrakus. during a weekend trip to cny she said that I had to look for dominick’s restaurant. I mean, I'm part Italian and love a good steak so I just had to see what it was all. from the moment I came in, I feel in love. the old school “Italian cooking aroma” brought me back to my kitchen from nona in wny. the music was great and the decor was secret, original and welcoming. this hostess welcomed us immediately and was very pleasant and welcoming. I have a feeling of the Italian hospitality I grew up with. we sat fast when our server arrived and greeted us. our beverage orders came very fast. we ordered the calamari. I am always sceptical to order meeres fruits at a place that does not border the ozean. I had many bad tasting experiences, but no here. the calamari was delicious, perfect made as it should be. we also enjoyed the order of the bruschetta. for my escape I ordered chicken parmigiana. it was moist, delicate and perfectly spiced. the pastas were a hauch about al dente, where I like it and the sauce was a beautiful balance of sweet and bang. it was all so delicious, but that dessert was amazing. a cheesecake with the name dominicks, written on each piece in frosting. very beautiful and impressive.
I have been going to Dominick's since they opened in 1980. Chichi a long time waitress was the best ever. I will miss this place
Its italian food which isn't my favorite but it wasn't the best I've ever had either. It was a little fancy but you can walk in with normal clothing and everything else. It was pretty good, you can tell a lot is made in house.
