Hole in the wall. Neighborhood place. Everyone got along and seemed to know one another. Places like these are disappearingFood: 5/5
I got excited when I saw it 's an old tavern/diner type of place because usually when these places are still open it means it 's kind of like a hole in the wall gem.. so, tired and hungry after work I make a to go order for the basic breakfast. The hash browns smelled like sulfur and were burnt. You 'd think they would know how to cook the basics like hash browns but I guess if your griddle and/or cook sucks, you wouldn 't get decent ones. I 'm a s for hash browns and I 'm not even picky about them. Just don 't send me off with some that are soggy AND black. The flavor tasted like an old grill too
We needed breakfast on a Saturday and our usual places were all packed! We live on the Eastside of Tacoma and Fergies came to mind. We had never been there before and thought what the heck! Why not? It wasn't crowded and we were seated right away. It has a real nostalgic feel to it. Kind of homey. We really enjoyed the breakfast and the prices were reasonable. I would say the only drawback was their bar. It's not in the diner part, but around the corner inside. At 11AM it was in full swing. Some folks wandered in and out off the street. But we never felt unsafe. We will go back to Fergies again. The waitress was very personable and attentive. ?
