Original House Of Donuts Tacoma

Since our trip to Portland two years ago, we’ve been conducting “Donut-Schmucktests.” We discovered this place in Tacoma, and it’s my favorite of all the spots we've visited over the past two years. First off, the box is fantastic. It’s a sturdy cardboard box with a convenient pop-up top—perfect! The donuts are all delicious, with the cake donuts having a tender crumb that’s perfectly moist. The glazes are just right, not overly sweet, which complements the donuts beautifully. I particularly enjoyed the orange drizzle donut and the chocolate cake donut topped with vanilla glaze, powdered sugar, and cinnamon. Overall, a trip to this donut shop is definitely worth it!

As a donut enthusiast, I found this place to be pure bliss. It’s clean and bright, filled with friendly smiles. The donuts are simply divine. While I typically don't gravitate towards creamy flavors, I gave one a shot after the recommendation from the woman at the counter, and I was pleasantly surprised. The cream-filled maple donut might just replace my love for the traditional maple bar. If you have a sweet tooth or a passion for fried dough, this spot is a must-visit!

Update: Unfortunately, House of Donuts has changed their hours! They now close at 4:00 PM, which means I can't swing by on my way home anymore. I’m sure it was a business decision, but this limits my visits to once or twice a month instead of a few times a week, as I work outside the city and get back later. Such a bummer!

Best pumpkin donut I ever had. Fiancé said the same about her (giant maple bar. The staff was even friendly and chatting at 6:00. A little expensive for donuts, but honestly, you can taste the difference. Definitely back.

The best donuts I've ever had! We made a pit stop on our way home after reading other reviews. It took us a while to decide but the lady working behind the counter was friendly and very patient lol. Thankyou! We had half a dozen in total. Omg. I've never had donuts so perfectly cooked. I've had a lot of donuts in my lifetime and this was the best I've had. My favorite was the apple fritter. My second was their version of red velvet. We shared more and all was consistently good. Not super sweet like others and super fluffy on the inside. I'll definitely make this my go to place when I'm in Tacoma!
