Red Gem - Tacoma

I ordered sweet and sour pork, and my mom ordered spicy noodle soup with just pork, but they got the order wrong and added seafood instead. When my mom pointed out the mistake, the server responded with, “You should’ve said that,” even though my mom had clearly stated her order. She took the incorrect dish back without a word and returned with a new bowl of just pork after a brief silence. The service was really lacking; they didn’t check on us even once. Our water glasses remained empty, and they didn’t bother to refill them. I noticed the server just watching us most of the time, which made me feel even more uncomfortable. Instead of enjoying our meal, I found it hard to relax and spend quality time with my mom. Overall, it was not a pleasant experience.

Excellent General Tso's Chicken. The server was friendly and welcoming. This place is truly a hidden gem. I can't wait to return! Rating: 5/5 for the food.

The jjangmyeun is the best in Seattle/Tacoma area, hands down. Can't speak for the other menu items.Food: 5/5

The spicy noodles and fried rice were so bland, and as for the fried pork with the sweet sauce- the sauce had a very strong flavor of cucumber and nothing else. Jjajangmyun was too sweet. Haven’t been here for awhile and I thought I’d give it a try and I was very disappointed. I don’t think I’ll return to this restaurant again, my $80 feels so wasted.
