I went for breakfast, lunch and dinner just to be fair. I have been very disappointed all 5 times with the food. The food either arrived cold, was not cooked well or was over-all just not good. The food was very over priced, not to mention the small portions that left you still hungry. Limited menu and limited appetizers. Birthday celebrations...don't bother to go...they don't offer anything either.
After playing golf at Allenmore, the 4 of us were excited to have dinner last night, at Smoke and Cedar, for the first time, as their menu sounded really good. To sum it up early, for those who skim the comments, it was voted by each of us, as THE WORST RESTAURANT, any of us had ever eaten at, in our entire lives. I 'm 60, and my husband is 69. The food was NOT cooked over an apple wood fire, as one would be led to believe, but rather was soaked in the salts of some bitter smoked wood seasoning salt, which not only made the brisket, rib-eye, AND halibut extremely salty, but also very bitter. The brisket was tough, so it couldn 't have been cooked low and slow, as should be, and the halibut was overcooked and very fishy, as well. The rib-eye was tender, but with all the salty flavorings, one would be hard-pressed, to even call it a steak, b/c all you tasted were the salts. The house salads, with yogurt dressing, were almost inedible, as well. They were wilted warm, and the dressing was disgusting, but the marinated onions were horrific! Their bread and dipping oil, was also a joke! They called it crusty bread, but again, it misleads the customer, to think it will be warm and crusty, out of the oven. No, it was cold and stale, and the oil, was old and rancid. Lastly, 3 of us ordered a tequila drink, which had some kind of jalapeno flavoring. For starters, each drink was $10, but didn 't have any kind of garnish, even a small lime wedge, so they cheaped-out, but when we all took our first sip, it was absolutely the worst drink we had ever tried. They had to be returned, and their replacement margarita was better, but not very good. This was the first time I have ever returned a drink, and to be honest, we should have stopped at the bread and salads and walked out, b/c the 2nd and 3rd bad signs were definitely a red flag. Because we were with friends we hadn 't seen in awhile, and were trying to have an enjoyable and positive evening, we decided to just make the best of a very bad situation, and let it go. One thing I will say, is it was a night we will never forget. We even laughed at the thought of having a competition, to see if anyone could top this restaurant, as the worst. I 'm just not sure that 's possible. I almost feel sorry for whoever opened this establishment, b/c it WILL NOT survive, unless they make some drastic changes. If you read this, don 't say you haven 't been warned. It 's really bad!!!
This was (I think our third visit, and Smoke Cedar has been just terrific every time. We 've always come for breakfast or brunch and couldn 't be happier with the service or the food. Joaquin was a friendly and attentive server and the food was great. Mom got the build your own bubbly cocktail and chose loganberry grapefruit, which was a perfect balance of sweet and tart. My husband ordered the bottomless **** mary, which was tasty and crammed with his favorite garnishes. My sister was delighted by her bottomless mimosa. Even the coffee was excellent. Can 't say enough about the food: Mom 's shrimp omelet, Dad 's pork belly benedict, sister 's french toast, husband 's burger, or my prime rib omelet. (Oh, and our table split a yeasted waffle because it just sounded too good to pass up, and we were not disappointed. It sounds kind of gushy, but it 's true: everyone loved their entrees, and there was a fair amount of omg, you have to try this and sharing. We had a great time and can 't wait to go back. We 're lucky to have Smoke Cedar so close to home.
Went here for Valentines dinner. Everything we ordered was wonderful. Very nice atmosphere with a nice view overlooking the golf course. Our waitress was very friendly as well.
Been there twice; once for dinner and once for lunch. Food was awful both times. Ruined a beautiful meal setting...
