The meat helping was large and very tender. The food itself would rate 4 stars. The sanitary check was more than sloppy, even by Austrian standards. A perfunctory glance at the pass on the cellphone, no check of identity, no double-check of the QR code, no possibility to register. So, unfortunately, low ratings for the service aspect.
Had dinner on the outdoor patio. Unfortunately a large group seated nearby spoiled the experience with their loud nonsense and constant, loud laughter. I was surprised to see that the manager joined the group at some point and contributed to the nuisance. The other two guests sitting outside were equally not impressed. Average food, better wine than what is available elsewhere in the village. The service was fast and I was offered a complimentary appetizer. Credit cards accepted. Given the paucity of choice in St. Veit, I would probably go back (and bring earplugs).
Visited this Restaurant twice during our stay in St.Veit and both times we were really happy with the food, drinks and the service. One complaint however was when a member of staff took away a not finished plate of salad without asking if we were finished with it. A nice place to spend an evening never the less.
A delicious Carinthian meal followed by great schnapps. Very friendly service. Wonderful chocolate mousse and Creme brûlée. An unexpected find in a small town.
We had our speakers dinner at the Suppenkasper; the staff was very friendly and had good recommendations; the wine (and choices of wine) included good to very good Austrian wines. The presentation of the food itself was good and also the taste of it was good. Definitely a restaurant you can visit quite frequently to have reliable good food in St. Veit an der Glan
