River Grill - Tahoe City

We had a wonderful family dinner last night. The food and service were excellent, and the holiday decorations created a festive atmosphere.

It was lovely to dine while overlooking the Truckee River.

The restaurant boasts a stunning ambiance, delectable cuisine, and outstanding staff. They truly took care of us and made my child feel at home. Enjoy picturesque river views or cozy up by the fireplace.

After a day at the spa, we stopped here for dinner. I felt slightly underdressed given the upscale vibe, but it turned out fine. The Espresso Martini was absolutely delicious, and the dynamite prawns had just the right amount of kick. The seared scallops came with a risotto and a glaze that had a consistency similar to rich beef broth. Although the combination was unexpected, it was delightful. The dish was also served with fried asparagus, which I think shouldn't be paired with a brothy entrée, as it can get soggy if not transferred right away to another plate. That's my only complaint, along with the fact that I didn't have room for dessert. The staff was attentive, and my water glass was never empty. The other patrons were friendly and engaging, and the view of the river was spectacular. I would definitely recommend this place.

The location is fantastic, featuring a spacious covered deck overlooking the Truckee River! The service was outstanding, and the food was delicious! Making a reservation is highly recommended.
