Finally, the duck, mamma mia .... they do not have to be in paris, chou chou gives them a new meaning of the duck!
The interior design is beautiful. The food is decent. The tastes are ok in general. Me and my friend shared one of the dishes and asked for a small plate so we can split it, the waiter said they do not give empty plates to share, which is very odd.
It was a good course franch meal and we ordered a Yiran duck as a main which is aged 14days. Staffs were kind enough and pretty professional thought the staff who served was a new to the chou chou team but not the floor manager or staff in charge was kind enough. Anyway it was not really a big deal anyone in Taipei should enjoy their meal. Lunch course is really affordable price and be aure that duck is only available for diner or special request in advance for lunch. Make sure to have around 2.5hrs meal time You will be super satisfied with their course meal of you order at least 4 5 course. Cheers.
Nice restaurant with modern design. Too crowded resulting in very noisy, especially table neyxt to you feel like having a private party. Food is good but not amazing. Suauce or garnish at Two of four courses didn't match well. High quality of culinary but the design of dish needs to balance.
Lunch menu: good to try, but nothing more then that. There were four of us and we have managed to try the majority of lunch menu dishes. In total the bill was 5400NT assuming that we almost didn’t order any alcohol (only 1 glass of their cheap wine). I would give them 7/10 which is ok, but nothing more then that. Good: In general all food tasted nice, there were lots of interesting combinations and I couldn’t say of anything it was not tasty (except onion soup it’s really so so, don’t recommend). The desert that was Tieguan Yin mousse was wonderful! Not good: They say of themselves that it is a French restaurant, but it’s quite far from authentic french cuisine. When you pay at least 1500 NT per person (assuming you don’t order any alcohol or extra price dishes) you expect something more then just tasty meal. Conclusion: good to try, nice atmosphere and high qualified staff that can speak English and able to describe to you in details the specification of each dish.
