Metro Diner - Tampa

Benedikt was absolutely perfect. The eggs were cooked to perfection, with both the whites and yolks wonderfully runny—something that many restaurants struggle to master, in my experience. I also ordered a pumpkin pancake on the side to savor its flavor on its own first. I occasionally mixed in some beets with my fork, and the pumpkin pancakes were phenomenal—so delicious! I highly recommend this spot on Kennedy Blvd in Tampa. The staff was attentive and amazing during my visit.

In terms of accessibility, there is a large parking lot directly across the street from Metro Diner, as well as additional parking spaces behind the diner, so finding a place to park isn’t an issue. You can easily park in the lot and walk straight into the diner. When we arrived, the diner was quite busy, and we had to wait about 10 to 15 minutes before being seated. Once we were at our booth, our server, Chenin, greeted us with menus and water. After browsing the menu and chatting with our server, we decided to kick off our brunch with coffee and tea. For our meals, we ordered cheesy grits, chicken pot pie, pumpkin pancakes, and coleslaw. Our drinks arrived first, both the coffee and tea were freshly brewed and well-made. The service was prompt, and we received our food within 5 to 10 minutes. The food was absolutely delicious; we enjoyed every dish we ordered. Everything was cooked to perfection, and we have no complaints about the meal. Overall, it was an amazing experience with wonderful food at Metro Diner.

The chicken tenders were quite large, and while the bread was tasty, it was a bit thicker than we preferred. The fries were average, and the seasoning on the potatoes was a touch too salty for our tastes. The crowd started to thin out around 2:30 PM, so that might be a good time to visit if you want to avoid a wait. We definitely plan to return. We noticed that their sandwiches looked enormous and appetizing, especially the chicken and waffles. Give this place a try; you won't be disappointed!

We really wanted to like this place more than we did. The food was generally under season, the waffle came with hard, non-soft butter? and our waitress had a hard time finding hot syrup (she broke one of her syrup dispensers the day before). While the food was unimpressed, our waitress was very good? attentive and friendly.

Food is good, but I felt like it could 've been great if it wasn 't so crowded. I guess a Quality/Quantity type of thing. Our waitress Dallas was amazing and very Attentive! Though the food was overcooked, it came out pretty fast. I 'd been waiting to go here a while, first impression not that great (food wise). Edit : Not to be rude at all. But most people wouldn 't have sent it that way. So it 's not necessarily on me to tell a chef the toast or bacon is overcooked. When by observation of others, theirs hasn 't been prepared that way. As I stated, I feel like it was because of the morning rush and I 'm understanding of that. I hope that when I come at another time you do prepare something that I will love.
