The Anchor Downtown - Tampa

I enjoy traveling and sampling chicken wings wherever I go, so I decided to try this place since it was near our hotel. I ordered the medium wings, and initially, the flavor didn’t stand out. However, as I continued eating, the sauce started to appeal to me; it had a nice balance of sweetness and warmth. The bar itself was small and quite crowded, and it felt a bit cramped. The service was just okay; it seemed like only one person was handling a packed bar.

I had an excellent experience at this restaurant. The bartender was fantastic—extremely attentive and spot on with service. The food was delicious; the honey buffalo shrimp was amazing, and the wings were just as good! This place is definitely a must-try. It's a local dive bar, but offers so much more.

Great place I visited in Tampa while I was there for work. Got there late and the kitchen was closed. I think the bartender noticed me looking on my phone for another place for food. He let me know that the fryer was still on and they could make me something out of that. Got me some fries that were on point....no ketchup required...and some very good mozzarella sticks. You gotta love places and people that go out of their way to serve the customer even when they don't reallyhave to. I will be back.

The bartender, Destiny, was fantastic, and the bar patrons were incredibly friendly. The highlight of the evening was definitely the food—it was absolutely delicious! We ordered jalapeño poppers, wings, Philly egg rolls, and a crab cake sandwich, and they were all excellent choices!

We discovered a wonderful little tavern with fantastic food and drinks. Brianna truly made our evening even more enjoyable. We’re very glad we found this spot!
