If you call yourself the Cuban sandwich shop, you can better be able to make a banging Cuban. This place falls under this brand. What seemed prepacked ham and a lonely slice of pork did not do their sandwiches any justice. I've never heard of salad on a Cuban sandwich, but her salad was soggy and sad. The potato ball was smaller than the palm of my hand and quite expensive for size. Maybe if you were in a hurry and needed a quick bite, I could recommend this place, but if you expect a top Tier Cuban Sandwich might try another place.
My baked steak was terrible! It was boiled and soggy drop with fat the bread was raw musk. After scraping off the steak, one could taste the fat that it was boiled and could say that the fat was not hot enough and simply soaked into the whole steak and bread. The black beans were not much better very watery and no taste the fried plantains were good as usual. I've been getting food there for over 40 years and usually quite decent, but lately it was bad. Not sure if there are new owners or managers or just a case to go on the bad days? I speak for a dozen or so long time customers who feel the same way.
Come here for over 25 years, because the breakfasts are soooo very good!! For beginners, if you are new in the area, and never tries Cuban toast, you must absolutely! Take it one step further and order a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Breakfast Sandwich on Cuban Toast. Mannnn... I promise you, not a single regret. Don't expect hair, this restaurant is quite modest. But please don't let that be quenched. After all, you're there for food, not the facility... The service is always fast, efficient and friendly. All tables, no seating. They also offer, if preferred, take-out. In any case, welcome to the Tampa area!! Definitely make your way to the Cuban Sandwich Shop for a wonderful breakfast, in an old school, North Tampa gem!
Honestly not worth it for the price. The portions were way small. Also it just wasn?t that great.. the white rice kinda tasted like it was the boil in a bag type the Ropa Vieja the Cuban weren?t that great either... the Cuban toast was probably the best thing I got from there.. so I mean at least that was good.
