If I could give this place a lower review than 1 star I would. In my first interaction with the owner, he was DRIPPING in sweat. I was waiting in line for a chance to try a waffle pop and heard the owner yelling at one of his young employees (she looked around 16), telling her she was incompetent. Simply for the fact that she didn't put on gloves before handling a customer's food. A normal person would gently remind someone to put on gloves but he didn't. And to top the whole experience off I went to use the bathroom after finishing my waffle pop (which was surprisingly good) and saw a rat staring at me. DISGUSTING. ps, I went to the Northdale location.
The girl was nice but clueless. She forgot my whole order. Ordered 4 things, she made me my milkshake and then left the stand and disappeared for 15 mins. I waited thinking she needed help, she comes back with supplies. I said ok. Another 5 mins go by and I finally say hi? I’m still waiting. She says for what? I tell her snd she turns around and again never starts making my order. I stood there confused and just left. Really wish I would of asked to a refund. I paid $20 and left a tip. All a waste.
This waffle stand is a stand-alone on the lower level in the International Mall, very central and easy to find. The staff was nice, courteous, and generous with the portion. I got the tough cookie waffle bubble. It can feed four, it’s big! I already ate before I got one and wanted dessert and stopped by this place.Although the waffle is big, the flavor is not. It was bland and not much going on. It was a good experience but I don’t think I would go back.
Wow! I just had the chicken and waffles and…I have to say it was delicious! This coming from someone who just visit in Harlem three weeks ago and eat at Sylvia’s birthplace of the chicken and waffles. I’ll definitely be coming back. It’s such a treat to have this place right in our NorthDale’ neighborhood! If you try this, my recommendation is to just pour the maple syrup right on top of everything!
