I never had a problem with this restaurant until the election and then, Wham, you are hit with bad service and bad food, food that looks like it was scraped off by someone else's plate. You go out to eat food, which is safe to eat, not to get sick.
My food was cold and took a long time to get, but space was really busy and close to the convention center.
12 o'clock reservation. Very difficult to get in with wheelchair. Stood in the doorway several minutes before a server acknowledged us and told us to go to the counter. We waited while they decided where to seat us. On reservation I put in the notes we had a wheelchair. We were seated in front of what I guess would be called the hostess station. Server was very pleasant. Took only a few minutes before taking our drink order where I also placed the soup order. Got mom's drink, soup and nothing else for 20 minutes. I requested my drink again in between there. Finally after 30 minutes I asked, not so nicely, again for my drink. When I decided I wanted frittata with ham, grilled pineapple, and gouda cheese and mom decided the cob sandwich, we ordered. 40 minutes went by before we got our food. Mine came first, fritta, potatoes, and fruit. Server took another 5 because now she's having to cashier. Gave mom my fruit, she was hungry. Also got my own silverware and extra napkins. My pineapple was from a fruit bowl, no grill marks, and ham, sliced luncheon meat and lastly the cheese, sandwich slices. I was so disappointed. Yes it's mothers day but at no point were they ever so busy anyone was waiting to be seated nor ever full. People who came after us left before we did. As well as another customer, in uncertain terms, letting front end staff know how dissatisfied they were with their service.
I agree with the majority of the reviews on this page. I used to enjoy this restaurant, but it seems that now the server, Mr. T., only cares about appearance when it comes to service and cleanliness. I never had any issues with this restaurant until recently after the election, when suddenly the service and quality of food declined significantly. The food looks unappetizing and seems to have been taken from someone else's plate. When dining out, one expects to have a safe and enjoyable meal, not to get sick afterwards.
Zudar's may not be easy to spot, but it is definitely a hidden gem worth finding. Located on a one-way street, this restaurant offers delicious burgers, oysters, salads, and soup. Additionally, the atmosphere is cozy and inviting.
