Gasthof Weitgasser - Tamsweg

We spent here a few weeks in the summer. The rooms are very fine: very old building, nicely renovated. Large and very clean rooms. The food is all very good, but some is really excellent: the fresh fish and the Topfenstrudel are among the best I know. Prices are very fair, especially compared to to the quality offered. They have a nice Gastgarten outside and a few rabbits to play with. Very nice, we plan to return.

We found in the manue an offer of a meal for 2 at the price of 17EU.We thought 2 of these meals will be enough for the 3 children and one adult.We ordered other 2 offeres for the 2 other adults. We got an enormous tasteless mixture of vegtabels and different kinds of meat.But the real surprise came with the bill.It does not matter what you ordered you pay for the quantity of pepole who ate the plate.Therefor we had to pay 34X2 for this plate . For 3 children and one adult who ate this order except for the . .other 2 dishes we ordered. How could the waitress who advised us about the food not worn us that this meal for 2 persons actually costs much much more than the 17 EU which was written on the manue. It was totally unclear that you pay 17 EU for each person who eats this dish. We tried to argue but no one listened and there was a real hostile atmospher. We left there 94 EU for a tastless meal and a desiving Manue Chart. Don't let the lovely look of the resturant desive you.

We got a small menu with around 6 dishes, all written in German. 5 minutes after us, an Austrian table comes in and we notice they were given a different menu with plenty of pages!!!! We asked to have a look at their menu and the waiter did not want to do it... So we can be sure they give better prices to Austrians and also a bigger variety of dishes to choose from. Not many times i left a restaurant hungry, but today unfortunately i did. I have never seen such a small portion before....not to mention overpriced and not tasty. You can make a better dinner with a supermarket bread.

Excellent food! Meat from the local butcher! Tried different traditional dishes savory and sour, brilliantly done! Staff very attentive and friendly!

We came for lunch and ordered beside other things also 3x kaiserschmarn with appfelmuss. Waiter bring only one and clearly put it in front of one person. He started to eat. Other two sat on the other side of the table. After we complained, waiter told us that these is for all three persons. We complained again. The cook boy came and he was very loud and rude explaining us the same thing again. Additionally he told us that we need to think in advance that these was for 3 persons. That testoran was our top choice in Mauterndorf before and we was visiting it frequently because they had good food and great service. I think that they changed badly and they have too many guests. We won't be back and we'll give opportunity to testoran which have attitude and respect to their guests. We wasn't disappointed in Burgschenke, Messnerhaus, Brunnenwirt in last 9 years. Also all restorants near ski resorts has polite staff.
