Picantes - Tamworth

We placed our order on Just Eat and included a special request in the comments section asking for no raw onion in the salad due to an allergy. Unfortunately, this request was overlooked and the food arrived with raw onion. After a quick phone call, the restaurant went above and beyond to make it right. They re-cooked our meals from scratch, added some complimentary extras, and delivered everything promptly. They also apologized sincerely for the mistake. We have ordered from this restaurant before and this is the first error we've encountered. The food is consistently delicious and we will definitely be ordering from them again. Thank you for the excellent service.

I came here on a random evening looking for something to do and decided to try out the newly opened Picantes restaurant in the town center. The nearest parking is just off Aldergate, behind Bonds Bar. When we walked in, we were surprised by how small the place was - it felt like being in my own living room! The loud music, playing "House Every Weekend", was unexpected for a restaurant of this caliber. Despite that, the interior was nicely decorated and clean. A waitress led us to a table in the corner and handed us some menus. The menu had a great selection at reasonable prices, with special deals for those on a budget. Our food arrived in about 15 minutes and it was delicious - my partner and I really enjoyed it. The coleslaw side dish was a generous portion for the price. The staff were extremely polite and I will definitely be returning. Thank you for a wonderful experience, but I would suggest a more mellow music choice next time.

Visited for the first time on a Saturday night, every other restaurant was busy but we were the only customers eating in here, they seem to be much busier as a take away. The inside is tiny but lovely, really comfy seats and nice decor. Food was delicious, basically like nandos but literally half the price and the milkshakes were amazing. Will definitely come again

Decided to go here with my friends and on first impressions the restaurant was extremely cramped but aesthetically nice. The waiter was friendly and the food is very affordable. It took a while for our food to come but it was alright. Just alright. If you order chips get the curly fries not the standard chunky chips they were just like frozen oven chips. Although the food was average it was presented well. Would probably come again for a cheap night out or a takeaway.

This restaurant needs to improve its overall performance. The staff try their best but seem inexperienced. They do not serve alcoholic drinks on-site and had to purchase them from a nearby off-license, attempting to charge full bottle prices for just a glass. Additionally, there are no restroom facilities available and patrons must go to a nearby pub for this amenity. The menu is basic and lacks detailed descriptions of the dishes. I ordered the lamb stir fry with rice, but the meat resembled crumbled lamb burgers rather than traditional lamb. The food was overly greasy and had an unexpectedly spicy kick that was not listed on the menu. The chef remade the dish without the chili, but by then my appetite was gone and it was not worth the trouble. While portion sizes were generous and some other dishes looked more appealing, I would not choose to dine here again.
