Rhodos - Tangermünde

We enjoyed a glass of wine and a local beer here. The staff were ok albeit a little pushy with regard to service we decided to eat elsewhere.

Looking for a change from traditional German food, we ate at this Greek restaurant located in the lovey old town part of Tangermünde. The atmosphere inside was cosy and familiar, lit with candles in the evening. Not knowing what the quality of the food would...be, we were pleasantly surprised with the excellent gyros dishes with Metaxa sauce. The portions were generous. Even the Greek rosé (not the roditas, which the waiter prudently suggested not to order) was very good. Had we had more room after dinner, we would have indulged in a dessert of Greek yogurt with ice cream. It was also nice to get a free pre-dinner aperitif and after-dinner shot of ouzo.

I had ordered the Rehakles cellar and I must say that I was more disappointed. above all the gyros, as already written here at other places, has tasted, little peculiar taste, and the hacksteak was also lacking. only that souvlaki tasted. my friend had a lamme-bowl and was happy with it. the menu offers all standard dishes that have a grieche as well. but with regard to the taste, there is a clear need for improvement.

It is still very good, Greek cuisine. very clean and well tasted dishes.

On a normal Monday evening we were in the rhodos in tangermünde. we did not find a table to two, but afterwards it was really full so that a reservation makes sense. we were kindly greeted and felt right there. the dining room is not overly decorated Greek, but it does not bother - in the opposite. the menu offers the usual Greek palette. the mixed plate with gyros, suflaki and bifteki is called "Otto-Rehakles-Teller". for me a reason more to order them. also for us there was the pork fillet baked and front (very good) tzaziki. everything was well prepared and very tasty. also that no pommes were frites on the tellers. the red Macedonian rounded off. the prices are absolutely ok, the service attentive and friendly. of course, there was the obligatory ouzo. Conclusion: a good grieche that is quality and quantity, here you can go without if and but.
