Donabe Asian Kitchen - Taos

As with everywhere else in Taos, this restaurant is understaffed, but they managed it well. They offered a good variety of dishes, but everything was overly reliant on sauce. We ordered some roasted nuts that had a tasty sauce, but they were drenched in oil which made them difficult to eat cleanly. Each of us made our own bowl, but ended up with different flavors, leaving something to be desired. My bowl had an overpowering sprig of cilantro which overwhelmed the other flavors. Typically, you only use a small amount of cilantro, but my bowl had a whole sprig, masking everything else. Those who did not have the cilantro leaf in their bowl enjoyed the flavors more.

We had a great dining experience at this restaurant. The service was good and the food was delicious. The vegetarian spring rolls were especially tasty. They offer a variety of vegan and vegetarian options. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting.

Did not hate it, did not love it. fancy placed so it was somehow expensive but they have very fresh food. we could say that everything was very good quality. the pho tasted not at all like pho (or what I eat as pho from many different places in the run of the years). was not a big fan of it. would try something else next time. that was just my opinion, I'm sure others would love it. vegan options available so that is a plus.

We were looking for some variety in Taos and stumbled upon this restaurant. We called ahead to ensure they had vegan options or could modify dishes to be vegan, and we were pleased to find that they had a lot of choices on the menu. We tried the green and red curry with tofu, spring rolls, and the tasty sweet chili sambal fries. I wish we had discovered this place sooner, as we would have definitely eaten here two nights in a row. The lunch menu also had some fantastic vegan options!

Our server, the name is, escapes me but begins with an M was amazing! She was very attentive and helpful! She made for an excellent experience the few times we visited! Excellent professional conversation and courtesy! Large Asian cuisine and taste! Very unique taste that rivals any other Japanese cuisine experience! Choose products and ingredients for excellent selection and ingredients in any dish. On the menu there is always something new or different! Excellent and friendly staff! Large family, date or solo restaurant and bar experience!
