Madre Tierra - Tapalpa

On a recent trip to Tapalpa, my husband and I discovered this delightful restaurant above the plaza. The waiter, Israel, spoke perfect english and was very friendly. When our vegetarian lunch arrived; a beautiful salad of fresh lettuce, sliced pears, candied nuts and blue cheese, plus perfect vegetarian sandwiches of roasted vegetables and goat cheese, we felt like we were home in San Francisco, Ca. I asked to meet the chef and she was able to tell us of her vision to serve wonderful, interesting meals. Well, she succeeded! We hope to return to this special town and to have more meals at Madre Tierra Tapalpa.

Very difficult to find place to eat in Tapalpa after 6pm (even if it's open, they always have something "sold out"), but this shop open late. This place has menu you like salads, hamburgers, but zero Tapalpish taste at all. Poor waiters's education, very slow service (45min for 1salad, 1 burger and 1 baguette-sand) little over priced. Very catchy fancy well-designed interior, could be romantic for small town youngstars.Taste is not bad at all, nothing remarkable though. But you can fill half of your empty stomach. One of Tapalpa's hipstar places. If you are from bigger town, no need to go.

Excellent scenery and great food and drinks. We each had a tasty Michelle's along with a burger and an arrachera sandwich and it did not disappoint us. Highly recommended!

Excelente lugar, comida deliciosa y las bebidas muy buenas. Totalmente recomendable. Cuando visiten Tapalpa, es un lugar que no se debe dejar de visitar.
