Squeezed through to be seated at the dine in area at the back of the establishment. Everything was fine (nice decor, friendly staff) until our food came. My daughter received her entree first. Several minutes later, one of the servers broughtover my pizza. I ordered a small vegetarian. What was put in front of me was a pizza crust with sauce on top. I thought maybethe vegetables were mixed in with the sauce so I couldn?t see them, but I looked up at her perplexed and asked if I could havecheese on top. She thought I meant grated parm which was already on our table. I should add that there was a language barrierbetween us. I tried to clarify that I wanted mozzarella cheese and she seemed to not understand me. She went to the lead serverand he came over, they exchanged some words in another language as he took away my pizza and apologized, telling me he wouldhave it fixed. I sat there for another 20 minutes while my daughter consumed her meal. When my ?fixed? pizza finally came out, Itold them I would just be eating one piece and nicely asked to have the rest boxed up because we were on a schedule and had toleave (now being there already an hour). I also asked for the check. He brought the little check printout to me on a littleclipboard. As per usual, I just glanced at it to make sure everything was in order and then I placed my credit card on top. Hetook the slip and my card away and came back with the multiple copies. I noticed the new copies had a higher total than theoriginal. After getting his attention (10 minutes later), I asked about the difference and he told me there was a 4% surchargefor using my credit card. When asked how was I supposed to know that, he pointed to some worn away print on the clipboard (thatwe couldn?t read) and some signage supposedly at the front of the restaurant (which we looked for and
I've noticed this trend becoming more common in restaurants, and it's detrimental to the earnings of servers and waitstaff because I refuse to double tip. In this case, a $1.50 service charge was added to a $40 takeout meal. Normally, I would tip about 10% for takeout, but that should be my decision. Automatic charges like this imply that the restaurant expects a tip regardless of service quality or the food itself. It's a poor and unprofessional business practice. Restaurants that do the bare minimum will only receive the bare minimum in return. Businesses employing shady tactics like this will certainly lose my patronage in the future.
I ordered my burger medium well, but it came out burnt. Additionally, my order was missing items when I received the bag. This restaurant has inconsistent quality; it really depends on the day, the chef, and who’s working the front counter.
A neighborhood gem! This restaurant features a charming area at the back with cozy seating for a relaxed dining experience. The portion sizes are generous, and the food is delicious. They offer classic American-Italian cuisine with a diverse menu. It's also a great spot for families!
I have to admit that I do only like to review great places to eat. But that is because I'd rather great food stands out. And this is some great food and service. The atmosphere is outstanding and the kitchen was great about delivering a perfect customorder. If you stop in this area for any reason I think you can count on this spot for a great experience.
