Afternoon Tea At The Castle - Taunton

First time here for afternoon tea and thoroughly enjoyed it! Went for my mother’s 75th birthday and had a great time. Amazing selection of food and treats, plus one of our party was vegetarian and so they catered fully for them too. Would definitely go again.

The whole experience was wonderful and made for a perfect 60th birthday treat. The service was outstanding and the afternoon tea was of the highest standard we’ve ever experienced. The pot of tea was the best tasting tea we’ve had and we even brought home a little doggie bag full of delicious cakes. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend afternoon tea at the Castle Hotel to anyone considering it.

The food was great my only thought I wish they would have asked about food allergies and preferences, I'm allergic to salmon and I can't tolerate pickles. So if I could have had no pickles and a different sandwich besides salmon, it would have been perfect. I usually don't like tea, the waitress suggested a tea and I loved it.

The afternoon tea was wonderful but I was a bit annoyed that having been told the day before that parking was no problem and just go straight in, I found I had to pay NCP for parking. The fact that one of the staff then sorted that out is immaterial, I would have thought a hotel of such standing would be able to allow its visitors to park easily and without cost.

Highly recommend the Afternoon Tea. The selection was excellent, well presented and to a very high standard. I cannot fault the food quality. Excellent, discreet service.
