What a lovely, welcoming pub! The staff are attentive and friendly, and there is a fantastic atmosphere at any time of day. The steak is a must-try, especially on Thursdays when you can get 2 steaks for £16. Despite the low price, the quality is outstanding - we've eaten at expensive places and the steak at The Shepherd's Rest is far superior. It's always cooked perfectly and the meat is incredibly tender. The chili nachos are also highly recommended - top quality at reasonable prices. If you haven't dined at The Shepherd's Rest recently, do yourself a favor and check it out. This pub beats out all the trendy city center restaurants we've tried. Highly recommended for everyone!

We had a wonderful experience at this lovely pub today with my 7-year-old granddaughter, 4-year-old grandson, and husband. The service was excellent, and the food was hot and delicious. My granddaughter even enjoyed an adult meal of scampi! We all loved our meal and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a fantastic Sunday dinner.
