When they are in taupo, make sure they try the bistro! we were there over Easter weekends and eating is stunning. we had rabbit terrine as a defree (not shown) then the bark with creamy spinach and mushrooms (the white foam hides a delicious ravioli) and the duck with sweet. I wish the duck had more textures. though both meats are well cooked and the portions are perfect! dessert was a cream boar that was full of vanilla seeds and not too sweet, it was just right. will definitely come back to check the seasonal changes.
Always such a personal and delicious experience, it cannot wait to go back to our annual jubileee dinner in september. it's just a good steak in town, so this time he has a tasty bite for his birthday. so sad when everything's gone and we can't afford it anymore. ideally, we would have two of the starters we have chosen and also seconds of our network.
My friend and I visited taupo for the weekend and I chose this restaurant because of its great vegetarian choices. my heart sinks when I see a pasta or a risotto as a main course option on a restaurant menu. it was so nice to see the bistro with its vegetarian/vegan decisions for escape and main course an effort. in addition, eating and service were impeccable. my friend, who had the Scotch-filled, said it was invincible!
WOWEEEEE!!! Honestly, we walked out of this place gobsmacked by how AMAZING their food was! We were only in Taupo for 2nts but ate here on both nights because it was that good. And both times the food was just outstanding. I mentioned to the waitress, if we could lick the plates clean we would have Amazing amazing amazing couldn't recommend enough! The Bistro is a MUST if you're in Taupo. Lovely family run business with friendly staff who can offer a world of knowledge on the area if you ask. Thanks so much guys, keep up the great work WE WILL BE BACK! P.s. it was hard to get any photos because as soon as the plates hit the table we were tucking in, but here is a photo of the most amazing Calamari of our lives.
