Always great service and the food is always awesome. Would recommend
If my family are feeling like chips, and are close, we won't hesitate to buy a couple fresh scoops from this shop. Fish are usually well cooked and fresh tasting. Chips taste like they have been deep fried in beef fat sometimes. When you ask for them well done or extra crispy. We will find 80% of the time we get home or chips are still nice and crunchy and not soggy. Which means they spent that extra minute or two giving you what you asked for and that's top service. Good chips, but with the price of potatoes. I wish, for what you pay you could feel like your satisfied with what you brought. If you drive into Bethlehem or Tauranga you will find a instant increase in size. But for quality, it can't be beaten and is usually my choice. Keep up the fine food service Whaka' Takeaways.
Fish was dry and tough, hotdogs were overcooked, kumara chips were nice.
The fish and chips were spectacular! The fish was exceptionally fresh, featuring trevally cooked perfectly in batter. The pieces were not small; they were large and thick, wonderfully moist, and encased in a beautiful batter. It was the best fish I’ve ever had from a local fish and chip shop—absolutely fantastic! Everything else we ordered was great as well, especially the potato fritters. The service here was also very nice, and the prices were incredibly reasonable—just over $50 for five people. I really wish this place was my local!
