Kiosco Los Guirres - Tazacorte

The location of this Resturant is pretty amazing, because it is almost right at the beach. Food is good, prices are ok. If you decide on getting something which is not on the regular Menue I'd highly recommend to check on the prices beforehand, because otherwise it is most certainly going to get disproportionately expensive. i.e. last time I went there I literally got fried fishbones with almost no eatable fish left for 19€ which was absolutely ridiculous. Staff is mostly friendly as long as you won't complain on anything. I'd love to give this Restaurant a better rating, unfortunately not after my last (probably ever) visit.

Our visit at this ocean-view open-air restaurant started off really nice. Friendly staff and superb starters. Than an entire army of flies spoiled our evening. It didn’t matter how many flies we’ve wacked, there were always plenty of them left to irritate. Needless to mention that they land constantly on our plates, legs, feet, heads, arms and places where we didn’t want them. Although the restaurant can’t really make them go away, they really spoiled our romantic dinner at the sea. Then we made a mistake by ordering paella. This was not freshly cocked but kind of half re-heated. Not very tasteful and tempting. My wife left it untouched, I ate some of it causing me later an evening at the toilet with stomach cramps. In addition to this bad paella, the never ending fly attacks made us leave early, missing-out the sunset what this place worth a visit.

After driving a little down the little road, through all of the luscious Banana Plantations, you will reach possibly the most awesome dead end on this beautiful island. There is a little car park, you walk a few moments and there it is.... heaven... umbrellas, tables, a few picnic tables, a cute tiny shack serving lovelyfresh fish and a lovely promenade right by the Atlantic. The staff are really lovely, especially if you really try to make an effort and speak Spanish, it really makes a difference I guess they get fed up with ignorance I know that I would. At the moment it is Spring Tides and oh it is soo dramatic! Crash, crash, crash of the seas against the volcanic beach and rocks with the sun beating down on you... We got a little burnt a few days ago, we arrived at 4pm, it must have been 23 degrees c but magnified by the sea. Some of the tables that almost reach into the sea were reserved for Sunset diners so I guess you can book your special spot. Lots of different people here, locals, hikers, sunbathers and dog walkers too even two crazy surfers who stayed out for an hour but didn't get on their boards fabulous people watching, we could have stayed here for days and we are going to try and find somewhere near here or La Bombilla to stay later this year totally fallen in love with this Jewel !

The location is unbeatable. It is well hidden between all the bananas but actually it is not so difficult to find (there is one corner where you have to make a turn but there's a sign for the rest, follow your instincts to follow the correct road). Service was very friendly, food and drinks were nice. You go to a Kiosco to get local, simple food. Combine it with a sunset and you'll be happy (when you know what to expect).

Restaurant recommanded.by the owner of our vacation rental. Not easy to find. Fish restaurant nesr ocean. Authentic and rustic. Delicious ceviche and sardines. Service ok. Average price.
